Dolphins escort us home

On Tuesday we set out early from Portland Harbour to round Portland Bill and cross Lyme Bay, back to our base in Dartmouth. The winds were very light and so we motored all the way at around 6 kn.

The monotony was broken by a tag team escort of three separate pods of dolphins, the first off Portland, the second twenty miles later, mid passage, and the third as we approached the South Devon coast. They stayed playing on the bow for several hours in total, why, we don't know but they are most welcome.
