Coast and rivers and Tall Ships

Updated: Jun 30, 2023

Snark is a sea going spritsail barge capable of sailing around the shores of Britain and Europe but uniquely can also cruising deep into the beautiful countryside of south Devon and Cornwall. With our leeboards and rudder up we draw less than 1 meter allowing us to go to the tidal head of most of the rivers in the south west (overhanging branches permitting!)

On our ninth voyage of the summer we will be doing just that. Starting in Totnes we will cruise down the meandering Dart to Start Bay, around Start Point to Salt Stone on the Kingsbridge estuary then on to Dandy Hole on the Lyhner River opposite Plymouth, up the Tamar to Cotehele,

then back to Plymouth Sound to watch the International Firework Competition, before crossing the bay to Carrick Roads to watch the Parade of Sail and the start of the Tall Ships Race. Finally we will head up the Fal to berth in Truro, the last port of call.
