After our wobble last week we have been much heartened to receive a bundle of very positive and supportive reviews, both in response to our customer survey and on social media.
'A very refreshing experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. A lot of the individual event’s success depends on the mix of people, and on my second visit, this worked extremely well. The time just flew by! The food on both occasions was excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the authentic Chinese cuisine. Paul and Qiao are excellent hosts. Their primary focus has to be on the cooking and serving of food, but they are still able to interact with guests. Would I go again? Well, I have booked for Christmas lunch!'
'We have visited twice and were happy both times. Its really nice to have a different experience, a different venue.
The 2nd visit there was a live 3 piece jazz band for our entertainment which was excellent.'
'I dined at Snark on 24th November. This is a great addition to the Exeter dining scene and an extremely sociable dining experience. Though a fixed menu ( if you are looking for an extensive multi choice menu this is not the place for you) the food was authentic and beautifully prepared and presented. Again wine choice is limited but what is on offer is very quaffable and paired well with the food. Seating is at a communal large galley table and sociability is the order of the day ( if you are looking for an intimate F2F dinner date this may not be the ideal choice) The price point is very reasonable ( We spent £110 for two diners) A really fun evening if you have the appetite for something a bit different. I will be back !!'
'A rare opportunity to dine in a unique venue in a great location. Tasty, fresh, healthy home cooked food. Sociable setting. On our 2nd visit we enjoyed a live 3 piece jazz band and met like minded people on our shared table. Highly recommended'
'The setting is highly unusual, as is the format. If you love repeating the same bog-standard restaurant experience time after time then Snark dining is not for you. Want something different? Well, here it is. The food on the night we went was pleasant and plentiful. Good home-style grub, nothing fancy. Good quality ingredients reasonably well presented, though the hosts are very busy throughout so it’s very much ‘talk amongst yourselves’, which we did and enjoyed. There is room for improvement but maybe it’s as much down to the diners as the hosts?'
This is all very encouraging and vindicates our concept for Winter Dining on the Snark. Now to get on with our Christmas bookings and events. More on this soon.
