It is always a sad day when we dry and pack away our sails and ropes at the end of the season but it is also a time to reflect and plan.
And what a strange season this has been. We started out with great plans for lots of shared sailing and yoga cruises including following the Mayflower 400 celebrations around the south coast of England.
Then as Covid-19 loomed we had to cancel all of our promo and booked events and invented the 'bubble cruise'. Even these proved very complex to operate on a sailing boat under the Covid safe recommendations and certainly not economical. We did manage to run a few but most of our adventures this summer have been with just us, Paul and Qiao, the skipper and crew. We have visited lots of beautiful new destinations with wonderful names; South Deep, Small Mouth Spit , Lyme Regis, Ansty's Cove, Salt Stone, Bigbury, Dandy Hole, Cotehele, Jennycliff. We've had some thrilling sailing and chilled out days, good food and beautiful scenery. More on this in the next blog.
All that's been missing is the company of guests. In 2019 we welcomed guests from as far afield as Canada and Sicily, Siberia and India, Bavaria and Arizona. This year our guests were all British and we suspect that will be the case next year as well. So we are re-planning our 2021 season to focus on providing wonderful staycations in a covid secure way. Our new programme will be on line very soon. Keep an eye out for early bird offers and not to be missed limited edition holidays.
