M400 - Dartmouth to London 7 day cruise

The Mayflower journey itself began 400 years ago with a voyage from Rotherhithe on the south bank of the Thames via Gravesend to Southampton, where she planned to meet up with Speedwell who was bringing other pilgrims from Leiden in Holland.

Our specially organised journey to celebrate Mayflower 400, is a long coastal voyage of approximately 300 miles which would be best suited to passengers with some sailing experience or a well developed love of adventure! Our exact itinerary will depend on the prevailing weather conditions but is likely to reflect the following pattern.

A typical day's sail will start with breakfast on board at 07.00, casting off at 08.00, between 9 and 11 hours sailing or motoring if the weather is calm, then moor up along side a pontoon or quayside at around 18.00 to 19.00, in time for dinner on board (always available and included) or a meal ashore (not included).

It is possible we will make the most of good weather and depart our berth at dawn; sailing through until late evening, in which case all meals will be prepared and served as we sail. It is also possible we may choose to do one or two overnight passages to make up time if we are weather bound at the beginning of the week. 

We may need to initiate a watch keeping system to ensure crew and passengers are well rested - all part of the adventure!

17.00 Embark at the town pontoon in Dartmouth, Devon where we will proceed with introductions and a safety briefing before dinner.  You will get a chance to wander around Dartmouth.

13 July 

Dartmouth to Weymouth, 9 hours sailing.

14 July

Weymouth to Cowes, 9 hours sailing.

15 July 

Cowes to Eastbourne, 11 hours sailing.

16 July 

Eastbourne to Ramsgate, 11 hours sailing.

17 July 

Ramsgate to Gravesend, 9 hours sailing.

18 July 

Gravesend to central London, 8 hours sailing and motoring.

19 July 

Spare day.  17.00 Disembark in central London. 

All food and refreshments are included along with bedding and linen.
